I have always been around dogs from a very young age. I grew up with German Shepherds that we had within the family. As a child we had a cocker spaniel who was born deaf and we taught her all kinds of tricks using hand signal commands.

I have rescued many animals over my time. The one that changed everything was Hughie my collie x. He was loved by everyone! Such a gentle soul and highly intelligent but hated being left alone. He lived to a very good age of 14 and is still missed today. Then we come to my lovely 3 long haired miniature dachshunds. Who are stubborn, definitely trip hazards, and characters. Yes they are typical dachshunds and bark! Indi is now 14 and starting to loose her senses. Lulu is 10 and will give you the side eye. And Larry…. Well Larry is a little extra. He is the youngest at 6, hates walking on a lead, hates the rain, hates the snow, tells you when it’s dinner time and is so mardy but I wouldn’t change him.

You might be wondering who the dog in the photo is? This is Jaffa my partners dog. He’s a cocker x cavalier spaniel. We often say Jaffa has his own diary as he travels around and stays with us or my partner’s children and is an office dog with his name on the clocking in and out board.
